OUR STORY
Directly from Kat and B.
Ten years ago, long before there was Kat and Brooke and SoulFire wasn’t even a thought, there was Kat and there was Brooke, two people who believed there was a need for a space where people could feel seen, heard, embraced, loved, and where we could be “all in.” We had no idea what would eventually grow from our idea, we just knew we were meant to create something. Flash-forward 4 years, and several huge moves, two people who could barely sit in the same room, became best-friends, and fell in love, got married, and knew it was time to bring our vision to life. We went for broke and purchased a yoga studio, and the work began. Transforming a space that was designed to move bodies, into a space that was meant to move souls.
Enter SoulFire.
For a year plus, we biked from Rehoboth to Lewes with the studio towels in our baskets and did all the studio laundry at home. There were 6 people on the team. And we pretty much made everything up as we went (we still kind of do).
The name SoulFire was born out of the Joseph Campbell quote “be fearless in pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.” And for the first three years, those words were memorialized on the studio front wall in Rehoboth. Committed to learning, growth, and change, recently the quote has been shifted to “set your soul on fire” We decided it was time to drop the “be fearless.” Truthfully, we’re never really fearless. Nor would we want to be. Fear (and we’re talking ego threatening fear not life-threatening fear) is a gentle reminder of what’s importance to us. It’s our soul speaking in the only way it knows how, by delivering a feeling.
So here we are now, 3 studios, and the sky is the absolute limit. We believe that anything is possible. And we’re beyond grateful to have you on this journey with us.
we love you…
